I will admit...in the beginning, I was very skeptical of CrossFit. However, I've been doing CrossFit for about 6 years and now recommend it to anyone wanting to test their limits. I played sports year-round in my youth and it greatly shaped who I am today. When Ileft for college at UNC Chapel Hill, I realized how much I missed the comradery of organized sports and friendly competition. I took up odd jobs of refereeing on campus to help pay for college, but also to fill a void. However, just a month after my freshman year, 9/11 happened and my world changed. Within six months, I joined the NC National Guard and earned my commission through ROTC. I entered Army Active Duty in August of 2005 and will retire in 2025.

The Army helped me to pursue my love of being physically active, and also pushed me into situations and environments that strengthened me as an invidividual. I was a runner, preferably long, SLOW, distances; however, I also enjoyed lifting free weights. It wasn't until my last deployment in 2018 that I was introduced to CrossFit, and I was hooked.

Within a short amount of time of doing CrossFit, I became stronger than I had ever been in my entire life. I appreciated the competitive nature of it, but also the strong community. When I returned from deployment in 2019, I joined CrossFit Falcon View and haven't looked back. I've come so far in my fitness journey and love sharing my passion with others in their own journey.

Outside of CFFV, Greg and I have five kids that keep us extremely busy. We coach them in volleyball and soccer during fall and spring seasons...and spend most of our free time shuttle them from other practices and hobbies. When not engaged with all the kid activities, we enjoy skiing (still pretty new to it!) and fishing!
